(New York, NY) – October 29, 2003 - Major League Gaming (MLG), the preeminent worldwide console gaming league for professional video game players, today announced it has entered into an exclusive agreement with GameTime Entertainment (GTE), a newly formed independent media company, to provide MLG pro players for GameTime’s new lineup of DVD–based strategy guides, called dvGs™. The deal, which will see MLG and GTE working together exclusively for the next year, will feature an MLG pro gamer taking the user through every level of a title and showing them strategies for winning the game. The first dvG project between the two companies is for UbiSoft’s Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six™ 3 for Microsoft Xbox™.
The guide for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 will feature MLG pro gamer Paul “Shizz” Baffi (Halo champion and member of “The Dream Team”), who is known for his oversized fanaticism for gaming. Having mastered the game during beta development, “Shizz” will be putting his most interesting strategies into the guide. “Seeing is believing, and with the new dvGs, seeing is also understanding,” said Paul “Shizz” Baffi, MLG pro gamer. “Primarily because the pro gamer has more interesting strategies, and secondarily because players can actually see the pros doing things that can take even above-average players a lot of practice time to pull off.”
“The new agreement between MLG and GameTime Entertainment offers us a great new vehicle to support and endorse our lineup of pro players,” said Michael Sepso, CEO, MLG. “Through GameTime’s dvGs, our online store endorsements, and our third party endorsers like LASR Accessories, we are well on the way to showing the world that pro gaming is a reality.”
