Today, Game Tunnel has officially launched its website http://www.gametunnel.com.
The purpose of Game Tunnel is to provide gamers everywhere a look into the games created by independent developers. These independents are companies that create PC video games and market the games without a publisher. The games are typically available online at a low price. Unfortunately, the majority of the public does not know about many of the high quality games created by Independent developers. Game Tunnel intends to change this trend by providing reviews and news about past, current, and upcoming independently devloped and released PC games.
In its short month of preparation for launching the Game Tunnel Website, Game Tunnel has assembled a small staff of reviewers and has published several reviews. The staff size will grow as needed to cover the many games that have been submitted to the website. Game Tunnel staff members only review full version games as it is the opinion of the editor that only full version copies of the games reviewed provide an adequate understanding of the game.
The website is divided into two major sections. The professional section contains reviews and previews of games that are considered Professional quality. The amateur section contains reviews and previews of games that are considered Amateur quality. In addition, there are screenshots of the games contained in both sections in the screenshots section. There is also a large news section which keeps readers up to date on the latest news about current and upcoming Independent games.
Game Tunnel also features a chat section wherein independent game developers discuss their current and past projects with Game Tunnel staff members.
With the new year and notable releases in the independent gaming world, including the launch of Garage Games and its low-cost release of the Torque engine, Independent games are poised like never before to make a serious impact on the gaming market. Game Tunnel has been created with the vision of helping consumers get a better understanding of the independent games available to them through quality reviews and news about the games. The site name itself derives from the idea that games made by independent developers are lesser-known. To learn about these games, Game Tunnel provides a viritual tunnel into this mostly unknown world of indepent games so that gamers world wide can become more aware of the many high-quality titles available from Independent developers.
