Puzzle games often are considered to be the lower end of
the spectrum when it comes to games. In fact a lot of people would
simply term these games as "Girl games." If puzzle games are girl games,
then Treasure Fall isn't a puzzle game. Or perhaps this is the first
puzzle game for guys.
Treasure
Fall looks a little bit like Super Collapse and it does indeed share a few
characteristics with that game. The idea of the game is to find to
adjacent pieces and swap them, creating 3 pieces that line up in a row or in a
column. The simple game play is easy to pick up. However, there is
a lot more to the game than that. This game has a very good RPG/dungeon
ambience. The graphics are wonderfully done, and the music is top notch.
From the moment you start this one up, you'll have the immediate feeling of
"this is cool." Mountain King has done a wonderful job of making this
puzzle game appeal to males.
In addition to the fantastic graphics and sound, the game adds special pieces,
such as the spell book, and different runes that have different effects on the
board. You can eliminate rows, specific pieces or if you get 3 spell
books in a row watch many a piece disappear.
The demo for Treasure Fall is wonderful and will give you a good look into the
game. It is hindered by having only a couple of the great soundtracks
that this game has to offer and a few of the special power-ups. For
those who have always thought of puzzle games as a lame affair, Treasure Fall
may just change your mind.
