Freeform space is the newest project by Spectre
Software. This sequel features some pretty graphics that I'm sure will
only get better as the game comes closer to completion. The current beta
we got to test only has a few features, but it was enough to get a basic feel
for the game at this early stage of development.
A peice of the story
from the developer "Freeform Sace is a futuristic space game where the player is
an independent star pilot with the freedom to decide his own future. Set in a
freeform universe, the player is free to make his or her fortune in anyway he or
she wishes - becoming a trader, a pirate, a mercenary, an explorer, a courier, a
stock broker, a bounty hunter, a smuggler, an assassin, or any mix of these.
Freeform is a very exciting action space game with something for
everyone!"

I think the most disappointing part of the beta was not being able
to play the different areas that sound so exciting in the story from the
developer. Currently the beta offers the ability to pilot the ship around
a planet and to destroy a few enemy fighters with a primary weapon: lasers
and a secondary weapon: missiles. The website shows that there are many
weapons planned, each aligning with the different planets and presumably the way
you can seek your fortune.
After dispatching the enimies, you can
dock at the spacestation or just fly around a little. Again the beta shows
the game quite early in production, but I'm excited to see how this one
progresses.
