So another year has passed and another GDC has come and gone. For me, this was
the third time I traveled to California to spend a weekend going to lectures,
talking to other developers, eating bad food, and hearing about new
semi-important changes being made in the industry (the really important stuff is
almost always held back for E3). The only real difference this year for me is
that I've been âprofessionallyâ programming games for the last year. Before that
I worked fo...

game developer's conference innovation came spilling out of the doorways of the
sessions and flooded all the hallways to the utmost corner of every room.&nbsp;
The IGF uses the moniker of being focused on innovation, and this year it was
quite clear that the some of the most engaging game play experiences were found
in Indie Games.<br>

8am - Ah the joys of being a webmaster. PHPBB had
an exploit that allowed the forums on the site to be hacked, so I was a bit
behind on posting to the website this morning and spent a good piece of the
morning hopefully taking care of the problem. Certainly the worst may not
be over, though my worry with this kind of garbage is that more may be in store.

9am - Simon Hallam was up so I chatted him for awhile about hacking, the
Wik site had also been ha...

8am - After a nice jaunt over to the conference center I
went up to the IGF floor to chat with whoever might be around. Seeing a
crowd around Revolved I sat for a second and started playing. 50 minutes
later I was finally fired after scoring over 14 million points...a personal
record. I had a combo of 53 on the board that I failed, my best of those
as well...

10am - Having mastered Revolved and wasted some precious time I walked
over and started chatt...

8am - One of the nice things about the conference being in SF this
year is the close proximity of the hotels to the conference center. This meant
that instead of waiting for the shuttle this morning (and showing up late to the
first presentation that I had penciled in as happened last year) we simply
walked over and showed up plenty early.

9am - Spiderman 2 on the Nintendo DS. It's no secret that I love my DS.
Though there are currently few titles available for the handheld I've be...
